Megan's first injury!!!

Well, we made it! Megan injured herself this weekend, and I am sure it is the first of many... but we made it through this one with ease. Friday afternoon at Nana's, Megan was taking her sock off by herself and yanked it off and ended up hitting herself in the eye, either with her fist, fingernail, or sock... we aren't sure. Matt was there and said he couldn't get her to calm down much or to even open her eyes much after it happened, so since she couldn't really open her eye much (and it was nap time anyways), she laid down for her afternoon nap and fell asleep. Matt went back to work, and Nana watched her the rest of the afternoon. I got off early and headed over to pick her up from Nana's and was greeted with a sad little face at the door and a runny and puffy eye. So, off to the doctor we went. I mean, it was the start of the weekend after all, and we really didn't want to be questioning if we should have had this checked out or not, etc... so just to give us peace of mind, I called and got her into the doctor just before they closed for the day... the doctor saw her immediately and put some sort of yellow glow-in-the-dark dye in her eye and turned on a black light to check her eye out. Yep, there it was, I could see it clear as day. She had a small little cut on her eye. He called it a Corneal Abrasion. So, in order for her eye to heal itself (which with this kind of thing, it usually heals itself within 24 hours) they had to patch her eye up so she wouldn't be tempted to rub it or scratch it and worsen the cut. She took it in stride, and actually left the patch on all night! We went back to the doctor this morning, and went through the whole black light process again, and she is all better now! No more little cut, and no more pirate princess! We made it through her first injury with ease!!!

Update - 10 months????

10 Months... can it be possible??? Megan is almost 10 months old! Wow, it is amazing how time flies! I can't believe she is so big, I can't even start to think about her 1st birthday - my baby girl cannot be almost turning 1!!! She has learned so much and has gone from a baby to a toddler in the past few months. She is crawling everywhere and even though she is not walking, she definitely toddles around! I think walking is the next thing on this girl's list though. She has begun to stand alone now for a few seconds at a time, and is a pro at walking behind her walker. She is waving, clapping, saying "Mama" and "Dada", dancing to music, crawling up steps, helping me get her dressed (putting her arms in the arm holes when I put a shirt on her), begging for food, going after the dog's food whenever she is near it, and the list goes on... She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and recognizes the Disney Channel pretty much as soon as you turn it on. She also loves the Backyardigans, Handy Manny, and she likes Special Agent Oso too! I am going to start showing her Toy Story soon to see if she likes it!

I can't believe how much this little girl has changed our lives in just 10 months! Everything revolves around her now, and we love it! For example, instead of going out to dinner and a movie on a random Friday night, we find ourselves going to Fazoli's (where she can get spaghetti), and hitting Babies R' Us to see if she has any interest in any of the toys! My how things change! I am sure we will have to hit Babies R' Us less frequently as she gets bigger though, or she will start wanting a new toy every weekend! Right now we tell her, you can have anything in the store, you just have to ask for it!...:) I am sure that will change soon - we won't be able to tell her that anymore when her vocabulary begins to develop..ha :)!

Life is pretty much great right now! I am still getting to work from home 2 days a week, and Nana watches Megan the other 3 days! Matt and I are both home every weekend and every night and get to spend lots of time with our girl!

Oh, recently we went to the beach with Nana and Gramps... here is a cute pic from our trip!

That's all for now!

Happy 4th!!!

Happy 4th of July everyone! We celebrated by going to the church picnic, swimming and then fireworks to end the night! Yay! That was actually yesterday on July 3rd.. but who is counting really? Tonight we just came on home and put Megan to bed since she was up late last night to watch fireworks. Matt and I are watching the Boston Pops Fireworks show on tv and eating Bomb Pops - how patriotic!!! We have been on a popsicle kick lately and these Bomb Pops are just awesome - and they are red, white & blue! Well, that is it for now... I hope everyone has a great 4th!
Goodnight all!

4 Months!

4 MONTHS! Where has the time gone? Our baby girl is 4 months old! Wow! We had her check-up at the DR yesterday and he said she was PERFECT. Yay! It looks like she is all caught up now on growing, her head is in the 40th% now, her weight 70th% and her height 50th%. She weighs 14.2 lbs. and is 24 inches tall! Unfortunately though, she still can't start on foods until her 6 month appointment... :( Oh well, I am sure they know what they are talking about, so we will go with what the DR says! She had two shots - OUCH... I always feel so bad when they give her those, because you can't warn her first. :( I just can't believe she is getting so big and learning so much this quickly. She already has a great personality, she smiles just about every time you smile at her - which is great, and in the mornings she can't get enough smiles in... she is such a happy girl! She has learned to laugh, roll over, grab things and hold on to them, she recognizes her bottle and bib, and she has become NOSEY! She always wants to know what is going on now... if she hears someone new enter the room, she has to check them out! And, last but not least, she is a WIGGLE WORM! I don't think those little legs ever stop moving! We will need help when she starts crawling - that little girl is gonna be all over the place!

Laughs & Giggles

This is semi-new to Megan... she has been trying to giggle out loud now for about the past week, but tonight was the first night we actually did something over and over that she thought was funny... we had enough time for Matt to run down and get his phone to take this video of it... ENJOY... I am sure there will be more of these to come!

My Girl!

Our Lives (The Past 3 Months)

Everyday is a new adventure at the Moore house now! We are enjoying every minute with our sweet bundle of joy! She is a wonderful addition to our little family and we can't even remember what life was like without her. What was it that we spent all of our time doing before? Hmm....

Megan is rolling over!
She is getting more personality every day and is so aware of what is going on! She started rolling over last week and can now roll from her belly to her back quite easily. She is getting too good at it! When she learns to crawl that little girl is gonna be everywhere. When we lay her down in her bed sometimes in just a few minutes she is on the other side of the bed facing sideways looking in her mirror or flipped over on her back looking at her name spelled out on the wall. She is a wiggle worm!

Megan sleeps good!
She is a good sleeper. She has been sleeping through the night for about a month now and Mommy and Daddy are loving it! :) She goes to bed around 8:00 these days and starts to wiggle around in there around 5:00 or 6:00 AM! Yay, Megan!

Megan is sooo cute!
Okay, so I know I am bias and everything, but I just think she is too cute. She has the most kissable little cheeks ever and her smile is so sweet!

Megan's toys!
She is starting to get more interested in toys now. She has a little zebra that she loves to look at! She hasn't quite started reaching for toys yet, but that will come soon I am told. She loves to sit in her bouncy jumperoo and stares at the little bear on the front or the animals on the material for like 10 minutes at a time.

Megan loves her family!
Mommy - I am working 3 days a week now and Nana is watching Megan the other days, when I get home from work her face lights up to the sound of my voice! She watches me walk back and forth and can't get enough when I get a hold of her and start playing with her.

Daddy - She LOVES her Daddy! They have bonding time together in the afternoons sometimes and on Saturday mornings. I think she loves her Saturday morning bonding time with Daddy :) (While I sleep in :) ) When he comes home from work or walks in the room and starts talking she gets excited now... soo cute!

Grammy and Grandpa - This girl loves her Grammy and Grandpa! She loves to play and sing with her Grammy and loves it when Grammy comes to visit her at lunchtime! Grandpa on the other hand, has spoiled her ROTTEN! Grandpa walks her anywhere she wants to go and is pretty much wrapped whenever she is with him. I can't wait until she can start making him watch movies with her, because he will watch whatever she wants too and they will be watching Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast... you get the picture - TOO CUTE!

Nana and Gramps - Nana has been keeping Megan on the days that I am working and it is working out great! Megan loves spending time with Nana and again is getting spoiled ROTTEN by both Nana and Gramps as they are also wrapped!

Clint - Megan loves her Uncle Clint! She thinks he is hilarious and is always laughing at him. He is also wrapped and thinks she is adorable!

And I am not leaving out anyone, I am simply out of time - but, yes she loves everyone else too!
Uncle Todd, Aunt AnnMarie, Ashlyn, Jake, Mamaw Shell, Uncle Larry, Aunt KK, Uncle Seth, Aunt Lisa, Maya, Max, Nina, Aunt Sarah, Uncle Rob, Owen, Jenna, Aunt Liz, Uncle Phillip, Papaw Preacher, Mamaw Lorene, Aunt Beanie, Grandma Bea, Papaw Charles, Aunt Misty, Hannah and more!!! She loves them all!

It's Facebook Official!

It's Facebook official - Clint is now listed as "in a relationship"! Woohoo! If you are reading this, congratulations!!!
...and she's a keeper!!! :)

Love your wonderful sister,

Cathleen

Whirlwind 1st Month!

Well, it has been a whirlwind! The last month and a half have FLOWN by! Our baby is now a month and a half old and she is getting bigger and learning new things everyday!!! She has grown out of all of her preemie clothes and is almost out of her newborn size stuff. She smiles now, stands up (with help, of course), and is trying to get the sleeping thing down! :) She loves to look at ceiling fans and lights and loves the curtains in our living room.. haha, she also loves her bathtime! Her first mini-vacation is coming up this weekend! Yay! She gets to go meet her cousins for the first time. How fun! Her 2 Month check- up is next Friday afternoon and then I have to go back to work the next Monday! Ahhh! I am going to miss my baby girl so much during the day! But, the good part is that I get to work from home two days a week and will get to spend time with her then, so that should help!

Since, it has been a while....
As Matt mentioned before, my delivery went great! My mom says it was like going through a drive-thru... but, I tend to disagree. Just because she didn't have to do much, didn't mean it was super easy. Although, I have to say it was pretty much easy! I absolutely love my doctor, she did a fantastic job and everything went really smooth! I mean, everything from our arrival the night before, to the epidural an hour after she broke my water, to the moment I started to push, was all pretty peaceful. Pushing wasn't even that bad! Matt, Mom, and my doctor talked me through it and it didn't take long at all until her tiny little precious body was placed on my chest! She was absolutely adorable from the moment I first saw her and has only gotten more and more adorable ever since! It was truly love at first sight! Her daddy and I are totally smitten with her! We've been through a lot in the past month with our adorable little darling, and love watching her learn and grow everyday, even though it is happening so quickly! It is scary how fast time flies, it makes you really want to savour every moment you can while she is still little!

We've been busy!

Since Cathleen has been busy playing mommy she has asked me to update her blog for her. As you might know we have been a little busy since the last time she updated the blog and haven't had much time. Here is a recap of what has happened (sorry for it being a little long). Megan was born on the afternoon of January 15th after Cathleen was induced that morning. Her labor lasted for a few hours and went pretty well. She has decided that if we have another she will definitely be having another epidural because she felt hardly any pain once she got it. We got to bring Megan home Sunday afternoon on the 17th but before we left we were told Megan had a little Jaundice and that she would need to be put on a Bili Blanket. We had no idea what this was but if it was a blanket it must be okay. Little did we know that this "blanket" would soon turn our adorable little daughter into a glow worm 24/7. This lasted for a week and then she no longer had to have her "glowing" personality. We were glad to get that over with but then I got a phone call that started us with a whole new set of worries. Apparently one of the newborn screenings that Megan had came back saying she may of had a metabolic disorder. We had to go to a metabolic specialist and have Megan tested. We wouldn't have the results back for 2 weeks so we had to treat her as if she had it until the results came back. They thought she might have a disorder known as MCADD which means she was lacking some enzymes to break down fats. What was the treatment for this? We had to wake the poor little girl up every 3 hours to try and get her to eat as much as possible because she could die or have brain damage if she got too dehydrated. After 2 weeks of middle of the night feedings, many google searches on MCADD and many many prayers, the Lord answered our prayers and the results came back that she did not have it. Other than the worries we had, Megan did get something positive out of all of this, she gained almost 2 pounds in 2 weeks! So that is what has been going on with the Moore's for the last month. We now have a healthy 1 month old that has not only her parents but also her grand parents and uncle wrapped. So now the fun begins.

2009 is gone... 2010 is here!!!

Well, I made it to the new year! 2009 was great! From the Ice Storm of January...to finding out we were expecting in May, to Papaw retiring in December.... it has been a year to remember!

Looking back over 2009 though, all I can really remember is what it feels like to be pregnant. I love it!!! I don't know what I will do when I am not pregnant anymore! It is a great feeling when she is wiggling around in there or when I can feel her pressed up against me and I try to pick out what body parts are where. I can't believe I never had morning sickness, I really was blessed throughout my pregnancy, and have been blessed even up until the end here being on bedrest. I think it has been a blessing the last few weeks getting to rest and bond more with my husband and family while we wait on Megan to arrive! At times I feel helpless, like I am not allowed to do anything or go anywhere, but really when it comes down to it, I just want to do what is best for Megan, and if this is the best thing that I can do for her right now... that is what I am gonna do!

I go to the doctor tomorrow and can't wait to hear what she will say... I am 37 weeks now and that is the goal they were aiming for... so we will see... we may have a little girl this time tomorrow night. Or then again, we may not! Either way, 3 weeks more is not too long to have to wait I don't guess! So here is to 2010 being a great year! WE GET TO MEET OUR BABY GIRL... what is more exciting than that???
